LR Trout WormZ Fishing Tips

Video 1 "Split Shotting" For Trout, Bass, Crappie

By far the most popular technique while using Lip RipperZ Trout Worms and quickly becoming a west coast favorite. The simple technique requires a small split shot placed approximately wo to three feet above the hook. Light wired hooks are preferred as they give the trout worm more bouyancy in the water. Owner masquito hooks are recommended in sizes varying from #8 - #16, with #10 being the size of choice. Now its time to hook the worm. Simply thread the hook down the worm, starting from the top (the end nearest to the worms vein). Continue threading the hook down the worm until you get to your desired spot. Another easy way of hooking the trout worm, is to simply stick the hook in and out of the trout worms vein, a simple and productive way of hooking on the worm.

Video 2 "Drop Shotting" For Trout, Bass

A simple technique called "drop shotting" is one of the newest methods for fishing Lip RipperZ Trout WormZ. This technique is commonly used when fish are lethargic or not very active and anging out on or near the bottom. The only difference between this set up and the "split shotting" set up is the fact that the small split shot is placed one to three feet BELOW the hook, instead of above it.

Video 3 "Wacky Worming"

Wacky worming refers to the way the Lip RipperZ Trout Worm is hook while using the "split shotting" technique. Instead of threading the hook down the worm or coming out through the worms vein, the hook is simply hooked in and out of the dead center of the worm. Each time the worm is twitched, the trout worm bends in half and creates an action often irresistable to many fish.

Video 4 "Jigging"

A technique refered to as "jigging" is a great way to fish when the fish are active or in areas with moving water. Purchase a 1/32 ounce or 1/16 ounce jighead from your local fishing tackle dealer. Cut the trout worm in half and thread it onto the jighead and tie the line directly to the hook.

Video 5 "Still Fishing With FloatingTrout Bait"

Still fishing is perfect for the sit and wait type of angler. When using a treble hook, cover two of the hooks with your favorite floating trout bait and hook 1/2 to a full trout worm onto the remaining hook.

Video 6 "Drifting" For Steelhead

This technique is probably the best used set up for catching steelhead in rivers. Using the drop shotting technque, simply place a visible bobber ABOVE your hook and get ready to hold on tight. The key is to have your bottom floating down the river on the waters surface, and your weight floating just above the rivers bottom. Your trout worm will be floating right in the strike zone and ready to be eaten by anything in the area.

Video 7 "Getting Bit Short"

When fishing areas where the fish are typically on the 'smaller side' or places that arent exactly known for the bigger fish, trimming the trout worm down is the way to go. With your fingers pinch off approximately 1/2 to one inch off of the trout worm. This will decrease your chances of getting "bit short" and increase your chances at hooking the smaller fish

Video 8 "Retrieving Your Lure"

Retrieving the trout worm with all of the above techniques is very similar, however, will vary slighty with each. The formula is pretty much the same. Cas the trout worm and let it sink into the lower half of the water column. Close your bail and start giving the worm action. Point your rod tip up and start bouncing your rod. You want to raise and lower your rod tip at a medium to fast pace while reeling in slowly at the same time, just fast enough to keep the slack out of yourline (with slack you cant feel when the fish bites). Repeat this action, and hold on tight!!

Video 9 "Using The Right Gear"

Rod: Lite or Ultra Lite action fishing rods. Top three rods for fishing trout worms are Phenix, encor, and G Loomis. Rod Length: Rods in excess of 6 foot are highly recommended in order to "feel" the worm and detect bites at all time. Line: 2-4 lb line. Nothing more.

Was that a bite?

While split shotting your trout worm, a bite will feel just like you are stuck on the ground. For some reason, the fish eat the plastic and sit in one spot. Once you feel a snag or feel any type of resistance...set the hook! Merely lifting the rod tip up high will normally do the trick but many prefer a more violent yank. While using the other methods, a bite will feel like a small tick in the rod or a small force of resistance. When this happens, set the hook!!!

LR Lit'l RipperZ & Mini RipperZ Fishing Tips

Video 10 "Jigging Lip RipperZ"

Cast out Lit'l RipperZ and let it sink until it is in the lower half of the water column. Close your bail and start giving the bait its action. Point your rod tip up and start bouncing your rod. You want to raise and lower your rod tip at a medium to fast pace. At the same time you are bouncing the rod tip, reel in VERY SLOWLY. Just enough to keep the slack out of your line at alltimes (with slack you cant feel when the fish bites).

Video 11 "Jigging Under A Bobber"

When windy or the fish are out further than expected, it is a great time to put on a bobber. Place a small bobber anywhere from one to five feet above the Litl RipperZ, depending on where you think the trout will be holding in the water column.

Was that a bite?

Sometimes a bite will feel like a small tick in the rod or a small force of resistance. When this happens, set the hook!!! Other times, the fish will practically pull the rod out of your hands!!! When this happens, raise the rod tip and start the fight!!!

LR Z Spoon Fishing Tips

Video 12 "Straight Retrieve With Twitch"

Cast out your Lip RipperZ Z Spoon and let it sink to the lower half of the water column, or anywhere you suspect to be holding fish. Point the rod to your side, parallel to the ground and start reeling in. How fast you should reel depends on whether or not the fish are active. We recommend trying different retreival speeds until you find the one that is getting bit most often and which the fish like the most at that given time. After every couple rotations of the reel, twitch your rod tip to give the lure some added action. When you get a bite, reel in at a fast past and get the net!!

Video 13 "Finger Twitch"

A very popular way to fish the Lip RipperZ Z Spoon and quickly becoming a pro staff favorite. When fish are active and are looking for an erattic presentation, this is definately the way to go. While holding your rod with your right hand firmly around the grip, release your index finger and point it straight out. Whenever you make one rotation of the reel, the line with flick your finger and cause your rod tip to twitch. An easy presentation with effortless results!!
